Collaborative teaching
The co-development of the “Intercultural Science Communication and Ethics of Science” course exemplifies the value of interdisciplinary collaboration. Combining geophysics and science communication expertise, we created a curriculum that weaves diverse perspectives. This fusion of disciplines facilitated a rich exchange of ideas, shaping a curriculum that we jointly delivered in a series of 12 to 15 lectures. Our joint effort in creating the course content and alternating teaching roles offered students a comprehensive view, blending our unique disciplinary insights from social science methodology to pure science. This synergy significantly enriched the learning environment. Beyond my teaching duties, my presence in my colleague’s lectures fostered active discussions and deepened our collective understanding of the subject.
